Singapore's national water agency PUB has issued a high flood risk alert for Tampines Road, which is a hot spot for flooding, after a span of heavy rainfall across the country on Wednesday. Reports said that boats went flying as heavy winds buffeted the National Sailing Centre at East Coast Park.

At around 4 pm, the National Environment Agency warned the residents that there will be heavy rain along with "moderate to heavy thundery showers with gusty wind" at many areas of Singapore from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

On social media, PUB posted an alert at 4.22 pm that heavy rain was expected over many areas in Singapore from 4.50 pm to 5.50 pm.

In another post at 5.52 pm, PUB said that the water level in the measuring drains rose to 100 per cent before subsiding in a matter of minutes. It has also issued a high flood risk alert for Arumugam Road in Ubi at 6.10 pm.

On Tuesday, Singapore experienced an unusual weather as hailstones fell in Ang Mo Kio and Seletar amid heavy rainfall and flash floods.

On Jan 24, flash floods were reported in the Western and Central parts of Singapore after heavy rain. PUB had said that flash floods had occurred in two locations, including Jalan Boon Lay/International Road and Craig Road.

In a recent weather forecast, the National Environment Agency (NEA) had said that Singapore will witness overcast and windy conditions with periods of moderate to heavy rainfall in coming weeks. The daily temperature is expected to range between 22º Centigrade and 28º C. The north-east monsoon that the country is experiencing at present is expected to last till March.
