Singapore Airlines, Taj come together to celebrate Onam; serve special food on board

In a sweet gesture, Vistara Airlines offers special Onam Sadhya feast to its passengers on the auspicious occasion of Onam.

How wonderful would it be if you could feast lavishly on Onam Sadhya dishes while you were traveling? TajSATS, an airline catering company, which received an award in 2016 as the 'Best Inflight Caterer' is delivering Onam Sadhya dishes to flights of different airline companies.

The TajSATS, which is a joint venture of Taj (India's popular hotel resorts and palaces), and SATS (Singapore Airport Terminal Services) is a leading food caterer for airlines Vistara (a tie-up of TATA sons and Singapore Airlines), Air India, Jet Airways and many others.

"From the moment it is cooked till the moment it is served, there is a science behind the way airline food is prepared and presented to make sure the customer is happy", said Arun Batra, Executive Chef of TajSATS. TajSATS is known to prepare special dishes for their customers during festive seasons. The special cuisines include the native dishes of those regions.

Vistara Airlines, a consortium of Tata Sons and Singapore airlines, and a partner of the TaJSATS, is serving delicious Onam Sadhya to their customers on board in the air. They are serving South Indian state of Kerala's vegetarian dishes from September 2 to 4 in their flights from Delhi, Bangalore and Kochi. This gesture of Vistara Airlines is highly appreciated by Keralites who need to travel on the Onam days.

Onam Sadhya is the elaborate spread of Kerala's vegetarian dishes served on the auspicious Onam days, especially Thiruvonam, the main festival. The dishes include rice, along with Sambar, Avial, Thoran, Pappad, and other native dishes along with the sweet Payasam, served in a banana leaf.
