Singapore: 31-year-old motorcyclist dies after accident along PIE

The police says the motorcyclist was lying motionless before the paramedics pronounced him dead.

A 31-year-old motorcyclist died in a road accident involving a car along PIE near Dunearn Road exit on Tuesday morning, the authorities said.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was informed about the incident at about 7.25 am and reportedly it dispatched an ambulance immediately to the scene. The authorities added that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police separately said that they were alerted to the accident involving a car and a motorcycle. According to them, the motorcyclist was lying motionless before the paramedics pronounced him dead. The police added that the investigations are going on.

Channel NewsAsia reported that the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and hit a wooden plank that was on the road. As a result of the collision, he flung over the central divider to the other side of the expressway and was then hit by the car.
