Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo beta for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in the US, South Korea and the UK. As far as new features and tweaks go, the world's biggest tech manufacturer makes sure to deliver a new experience that many Galaxy owners would enjoy in the long run.
IBTimes Singapore has looked into some of the most notable changes that come with the Android 8.0 Oreo beta for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus devices. Check out the list of additional features and tweaks below:
Dual Messenger as standard app
The much-loved Samsung feature is getting a revamp in Oreo. With Android 8.0 Oreo beta, Dual Messenger has now a standard feature on its own, still allowing users to clone social networking or messenger apps that do not handle two accounts at the same time, such as Facebook, Skype, Snapchat and Messenger, among many others.
Pin or snooze notification
Tapping the Clear All button on the notifications shade completely removes all the notifications sitting in there. With the pin or snooze notification, users can make exemptions to some notifications by pinning it so even if the Clear all option is tapped, the pinned notification will remain in place.
Finally, the main Settings menu gets one additional functionality and one modification. A clear search history option has been added here, while the About phone menu changes the sub-options arrangement with the phone number, device model number, serial number and IMEI being displayed right at the top of the section.
