Singapore just got its first business radio station. Singapore Press Holdings' talk-format station Money FM 89.3, launched today, January 29, is expected to provide business and money-related news from Singapore and beyond to its listeners.

Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) said that this radio channel is for those people who are interested in retirement planning, investing, savings and other everyday personal financial matters.

Sim Hong Huat, SPH Radio's general manager, said that the idea of such a radio station came when they were mulling over new radio formats. He felt that this will work out as Singapore is getting more affluent.

"MONEY FM 89.3 is truly a unique format that stands out from all other radio stations, with a clearly defined focus on understanding money on a personal and business front. We are confident that we have gotten the best team on board to deliver such information to our listeners...I am sure you will gain a lot of useful insights from this new station," said Hong Huat, as reported by Asia One.

There is an array of informative shows lined up for its listeners, hosted by different radio jockeys.

Money FM 89.3 morning shows will be hosted by RJs Elliot Danker and Yasmin Jonkers from 6 am to 10 am. From 10 am to 2 pm, latest updates on investment and small & medium enterprises will be shared by Howie Lim. Clarissa Monteiro will take over the show focusing on lifestyle and fashion from 2 pm to 4 pm. Evening shows, from 4 pm to 8 pm, will be taken over by Desmond Wong and he will provide news on trading activities around Asia and Europe.
