A 22-year-old Chinese man has died after falling from the fourth floor of Low Yat Plaza in Kuala Lumpur on Friday night.

The victim has been identified as Tan Wai Kit and he is from Kampung Baru Slim River, Perak. The accident happened at about 11.30pm when the traders were busy wrapping up.

People who witnessed the incident called the Kuala Lumpur Hospital immediately but the man died at the scene.

The police have revealed that the man used to work in one of the hand phone shops in Low Yat Plaza a few months ago. But the man's manager had lodged a complaint alleging criminal breach of trust involving the victim before this incident.

The man was supposed to be handed over to the police, who were waiting in the ground floor. However, the man jumped from the fourth floor even as he was being taken to the police. The police are investigating the case.
