Singapore Housing and Development Board (HDB) has put up 4,056 flats for sale in Punggol, Clementi and Tampines in its first Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise of the year. This is the first tranche of 17,000 flats to be launched in 2017.
According to reports, the flats range from 2-room Flexi to Three-Generation (3Gen) units. In Punggol's Waterway Sunrise II and Northshore Cove projects, which are offering 1,815 new flats, 2-room Flexi flats are priced at S$81,000 and three-room flat at $163,000. However, these prices do not include grants. Moreover, while four-room flats are will start from $257,000, the five-room flats will cost around $383,000.
Meanwhile, at Clementi NorthArc and Clementi Peaks, which are offering a total of 1,603 new flats, three-room and five-room flats will cost $293,000 and S$571,000 respectively.
On the other hand, Tampines GreenBloom and Tampines GreenFlora, offering a total of 638 units together, will not have any three-room flats. However, their four-room flat will starts from $299,000, and five-room will cost around $397,000, according to reports.
National Development Minister Lawrence Wong, while pointing that this wide range of flats will not only give more options but also meet different budget and needs, said that this launch will be beneficial for couples who wish to live close to their parents. "Besides flats for home-ownership, we continue to promote mutual care and support for families through our flat offerings and schemes," wrote Wong in a Facebook post.
HDB also announced that while eligible first-timer families will be given housing grants up to S$80,000, families under the Fresh Start Housing Scheme will also be able to apply for 2-room Flexi flats.
Interested applicants can submit application online at HDB's InfoWEB starting from Tuesday until next Monday or else they can go to a HDB Hub or any of HDB's branches for the procedure.
