It's one of the Singapore's largest independent animation festival partnering with Sideshow for the sixth consecutive year and the festival is back this time with more animated fare from various corners of the world.
This year's edition focuses on local animations with a new set of awards, for the best animation from that particular region of the world. Cartoon Underground has launched three Golden Durian awards too -- for the best film, best director and the People's Choice award.
Interestingly, the judges for 'People choice award' is the audience. The programme also features works from directors from Ottawa Animation Festival, Zagerb Animation Festival, and Edinburgh International film festival.

The fans of Back Street Boys would love to attend this event, though the band has their own midlife crisis as they are back with 2017 WTA finals. Perspectives Film Festival
Cinemagoers get an opportunity to watch the film made by a student who is showcasing 11 international films based on "Rebels" theme. The festival opens with director Mathew Heinmen's the 'City Of Ghosts' which is nominated for the Academy Award. The Emmy award winning movie will be followed by a documentary that features the journey of Syrian activist in their home group and other restored classics that include Black Girl , McCabe, and Mrs. Miller and also other series of interactive ancillary events.
