Samsung DeX to turn Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus into personal computers

It is rumored that Samsung Dex station will be released at the same event as Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus next week

Samsung is just days away from officially unveiling the flagship Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Buyers will also have plenty of accessories to buy along with the smartphone upon their launches, such as Gear 360 camera, new Gear VR headset and even a docking station devoted to these phones only. But now ahead of the release, another leak has surfaced, which says Samsung's new DeX Station will also be unveiled at the same event with the Galaxy S8 models.

According to TechMoran, Samsung DeX is supposed to bring a desktop experience for the users, as it will provide a desktop-like workstation for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Having similar features like Microsoft's Continuum, DeX is going to project the contents of the said smartphones on a bigger monitor screen. The devices will be wirelessly connected to the DeX station, so, no more messy extra wires.

The Dex station is going to pack some serious hi-tech features, such as, two USB 2.0 ports on the back and 100Mb/s ethernet port. These USB ports would allow customers to connect a wired keyboard and a mouse along with the work station and the Ethernet will make sure that you are not forced to use wifi or a cellular internet connection. Also it will have an HDMI port that will let users export 4K videos at up to 30 frames per second (fps) speed. Thinking about the heating up of the device due to all these functions? Don't worry, Samsung Galaxy desktop experience comes with a fan to actively cool the device.

The smart device is speculated to be sold at a price of $162. Samsung will give more details about it at the launch of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus on March 29.
