Owners of OnePlus flagship phones are in for some great news as the latest Open Beta update for Android 7.1.1 OxygenOS is now available for OnePlus 3 and 3T via manual download links. The new update brings a handful of feature enhancements including gallery improvements and new wallpaper options, besides a plethora of general bug fixes.

Apart from a handful of feature improvements and bug fixes, the Android 7.1.1 Open Beta 12 update also comes with its own share of bugs and compatibility problems with certain third-party apps. Android Pay continues to suffer compatibility issues with London TFL/Tube, which can now be resolved by simply updating the app via Play Store.

How to sideload Android 7.1.1 OXygenOS Open Beta 12 on OnePlus 3 and 3T

Step 1: Download the Android 7.1.1 Open Beta update for OnePlus from the download link provided. Ensure you have installed the necessary ADB files on the computer

Step 2: Reboot the phone in recovery mode: Power off your device and then turn it on while holding the Power and Volume Down buttons together.

Step 3: Select "Install from USB" option in the recovery screen and then tap OK to confirm. You will now see a notification on the screen saying, "You are in sideload mode." Note: This method works fine if you are running the original Oxygen Recovery else follow the steps posted here for flashing OxygenOS Recovery on top of TWRP recovery.

Step 4: Connect your OnePlus 3/3T to computer or Mac and run the following command (without quotes) via command prompt or terminal:

  • For Windows: "adb sideload "
  • For Mac/Linux: "./adb sideload "
