Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he knew that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will re-sign with Manchester United "for a while" and claims the Swede is on a mission to win the Premier League with the Red Devils.

The 20-time English champions signed the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain striker on a free transfer in 2016. He scored 28 goals in all competitions as Jose Mourinho's side went on to win the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

Ibrahimovic suffered a serious knee injury in April and is still recovering on the sidelines. His contract at Old Trafford expired in the summer and he was earlier released by United following the end of the last season.

Mourinho re-signed the 35-year-old late in August and Lukaku, who joined United from Everton earlier in the summer, knew that Ibrahimovic had already decided to rejoin the Old Trafford club.

"I already knew for a while that Zlatan would sign but I didn't tell anyone. I'm happy. We need his personality," Sky Sports quoted Lukaku as saying.

"I think Zlatan will bring us a lot. I think he has one mission, and that is to win the Premier League, and we're going to help him reach his goal."

Lukaku and Ibrahimovic are managed by Mino Raiola, who also manages other two United stars Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
