BNP Paribas 2017 WTA Finals presented by SC Global is going to feature top seed women tennis players from October 22 to 29 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The official draw ceremony for singles is scheduled on 20 October at 7:30 pm SGT and for the doubles on 24 October at 6 pm SGT.

While the current world No. 1 Simona Halep and the world rank two Garbiñe Muguruza will be fighting for the top position in Singapore, other top seed players will also fight for the maximum points.

The list of the qualified players includes top-ranked players such as the Czech tennis star Karolina Pliskova, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, American tennis queen Venus Williams, the 2017 Hong Kong Open champion Caroline Wozniacki and the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko.

After the China Open Halep took over Muguruza and became the top seed player of women tennis world. According to ranking points, the Spaniard is only 40 points behind of the Romanian.

However, there is a chance for Muguruza to surpass the current world No. 1, as the WTA final tournament offers up to 1,500 points.

Apart from the top two players, Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking points for Pliskova stand at 5,105 points, while Venus has 4,642 points, Caroline has 4,640 points and the 20-year old Jelena has 4,510 points till now.

On the other hand, the 2017 WTA Final, which is also known as 'Billie Jean King trophy' will be an important event for Venus as she will be playing in this event for the first time since 2009.

The elder from the Williams sisters played her last WTA Finals in Doha, where her sister Serena Williams defeated her in the final match.

The tournament format states that throughout the group stage whatever points collected by a player will decide the semifinal, runner-up, or the champion points. If a player has a 3-0 lead in the group stage and wins the final, that means she will receive 1,500 points once she receives the title.
