Who Is Charlotte Griffiths? Prince Harry Sent Flirty Messages to Glamorous Reporter About 'Movie Snuggles' While She Called Him 'Mr Mischief'

Harry has said he only met Griffiths once and stopped communicating with her once he realized she was a journalist.

Prince Harry sent a series of playful and flirtatious messages to a journalist on Facebook, joking that he could outdrink her and reminiscing about their "movie snuggles," according to court documents. In the messages, the royal reportedly gave Daily Mail journalist Charlotte Griffiths the nickname "sugar" and ended his lighthearted notes with multiple kisses.

The exchanges surfaced as part of his privacy case against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of the paper. Griffiths, in turn, kept the playful tone going by calling the Duke of Sussex "Mr Mischief" and even joked about a "weekend of naughtiness," according to reports. This came as shocking revelations about Harry's flirtatious nature were revealed.

Harry has said he only met Griffiths once and stopped communicating with her once he realized she was a journalist. However, the tone and content of their messages—sent between December 2011 and January 2012—suggest that their connection may have been much closer than he has indicated.

"It's H, incase u were confused by the name and picture," the duke wrote in his first message to Griffiths, now 40.

Griffiths replied, "Hello Mr Mischief, was indeed confused by both – effing awesome pie," before asking if he had managed to find his car and mentioning their mutual friend Arthur Landon.

In another follow-up, she looked back on what she described as their "weekend of naughtiness," continuing the same playful tone in their exchange.

"Can't we all get up to no good in the countryside every weeked [sic] damn it?? Smooches, CG String. Xxx," she wrote.

Harry replied by saying it was "without doubt the best of those weekends I've been to," suggesting he looked back on it very fondly.

"What a crowd. Never laughed so much in 24hrs!!! Mr Mischief? How did I get that title... I was surely no worse than anyone else," he wrote.

The two exchanged a steady stream of messages over a few days before their communication eventually came to an end. After that, Griffiths sent another message in January 2012 about a ski trip, where she referred to Harry by the nickname "H-bomb." "I wish I was there sugar but unfortunately stuck in Cornwall doing Army stuff," Harry said.

"Otherwise I would have been there playing and then drinking u under the table, obvi!!."

Harry also told the reporter that he missed their "movie snuggles," and not long after that, their conversations came to an end.

These exchanges took place before he began dating actress and model Cressida Bonas.

In her testimony, Griffiths recalled that she and Harry attended a party together in June 2012, the night before Trooping the Colour, and exchanged messages again the following morning.

The Duke of Sussex, now 41, is one of several claimants—alongside figures like Elton John—taking legal action against Associated Newspapers. They allege the publisher was involved in widespread unlawful practices over more than two decades, including phone hacking, bugging landlines, and obtaining private information through deceptive means dating back to the early 1990s.

The judge noted on Tuesday that the final decision in the case is likely to take some time.
