Thai woman lodges police complaint against Malacca immigration officer for allegedly raping her

Reports say that the woman possessed a marriage certificate and travel document.

A 28-year-old Thai woman claimed that she was raped by an Immigration officer at the Machap Umboo Immigration Depot in Malacca, China Press reported. She has lodged a police report through a friend, who is also a Thai national married to a local man.

According to the friend, both of them were picked up at a massage parlour in Malacca, together with three other Thai women at 11 pm on March 7.

"We were brought to the Immigration De­­pot the next morning, and on March 9, the Im­mi­gration officer recorded our statements," she told the Chinese daily. She claimed that her friend was raped during questioning.

She added that her friend possessed a marriage certificate and travel document. "She was so afraid and asked me to lodge a report when I was released."
