Overview

England were successful in chasing the target of 230 runs against South Africa in their second Group 1 fixture of the T20 World Cup. Joe Root was the star player with the bat as his contribution was key in helping the Three Lions seal their first win.

Eoin Morgan's side suffered a defeat at the hands of West Indies in their first match. A victory over Afghanistan will see them chances of qualifying for the next stage of the tournament alive.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan's chances of making it to the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 looks very slim, especially that they face England and West Indies in the next two fixtures.
