Overview

The last time these two sides, Australia and New Zealand faced each other was during the ICC World Cup 2015 as the two were the host nations. The final was played in Australia and that was the only game the Black Caps played away from home.

The hosts won comfortably as Michael Clarke helped his side bring back the cup to Australia. New Zealand will have an opportunity to settle the score when they face Steven Smith's side on Friday.

The Kiwis have already registered a victory over India in the first Group 2 fixture. Their recent crushing win over MS Dhoni's side, who are the tournament favourites should be something Australia need to worry about.
