Top seed Stanislas Wawrinka takes on unseeded Malek Jaziri in the Men's singles third round of Miami Open 2017 at the Crandon Park, Florida on Monday.

The world number three eased past his opening-round opponent Horacio Zeballos in 6-3, 6-4 in little over an hour on Saturday. On the other hand, Jaziri, who benefited from his first-round foe Alexandr Dolgopolov retiring due to injury, clinched a hard-fought win against higher-ranked Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Wawrinka, who is the top seed in an ATP Masters 1000 tournament for the first time, will be looking to continue his good form after reaching the final of Indian Wells earlier this month. The Swiss star has not gone past the quarter-final stages in Miami but the withdrawal of top-ranked Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic has given him an easier passage to the final stages of the ongoing tournament.

Having a 13-5 record in the ongoing season, Wawrinka is likely to face Roger Federer, against whom he has gone down twice (Australian Open semi-final, Indian Wells final) but the 31-year-old will be focussed on getting the job done against the Tunisian player, who has been quite impressive in the recent past.

Jaziri had been reaching the final stages of tournament since last year and after couple of early exits in the new season (Doha, Auckland), the 33-year-old reached the third round of Australian Open and made it to the fourth round in Indian Wells, which was his best ever run at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

However, it will be an uphill task for the Tunisian against Wawrinka, who will be hungry to come up with one of his better performances in Miami.
