Overview

Spain are the defending champions and have won the tournament in 2012 and also 2008. Having held the title as European champions for the last eight years, they head into the Euro 2016 as one of the favourites.

Manchester United star David de Gea is likely to get the nod ahead of Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas for a place in the starting lineup. Spain will be looking to start the tournament with a victory on Monday.
