Singapore Airlines and ride-hailing firm Grab have inked a new deal aiming to strengthen their service by giving more convenience to passengers. In line with the deal, Grab offers credits to the first 5,000 travellers.
The two companies on Tuesday, October 3 revealed that flyers across Southeast Asia can now use the Singapore Airlines mobile application to book a Grab ride to the airport. The announcement highlights the partnership's goal to bring more comfort and convenience to travellers in six countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
To use Grab via Singapore Airlines app, travellers have to add their trip to the airline's mobile app before they can see the Grab option beginning from seven days before their flight. Tapping on the Grab icon will redirect customers to the Grab app which automatically will have the airport as the given destination.
GrabPay chief Jason Thompson expresses his excitement over the new partnership, stressing both companies' aim to give passengers safe and optimum quality of travel experience.
"This partnership is a significant recognition by one of the most prestigious airlines in the world and I'm incredibly excited about what we're going to achieve together," says Thompson.
In line with the deal, Grab is giving away S$10 (US$1.5) via GrabPay wallet to the first 5,000 customers to use the new service. For GrabRewards members, they will have the option to convert the credit into KrisFlyer miles.
