Overview

Manila is gearing up to host One: Age of Domination, this year's final One Championship event on 2 December. The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event is returning to Philippines with two title fights this year and also has some of the biggest Asian MMA fighters on a stacked fight-card.

In the main event, fan favourite and reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera will take on Japan's Hideki Sekine, who will be challenging the Filipino fighter for the title. Notably, the Filipino-American fighter is making his first defence of the title, which he won by beating Paul Cheng in 2015.

Vera (14-7-0-1) is pumped up ahead of the big night and is confident of not letting the title slip away in front of his home crowd. But, the 39-year-old is aware of his Japanese opponent, the jiu-jitsu expert, who has been undefeated in his seven bouts so far.

The co-main event, Brazil's Bibiano Fernandes - the bantamweight belt holder (19-3) - will take on Reece McLaren (9-3). Known for his ruthless striking capabilities, Fernandes, who is bidding to defend the title for a record fifth time at One, will be facing a tricky clash against this Australian foe, who is a known for his sound technical skills.

Another promising Filipino fighter who is set to grab all the attention on Friday is Mark Striegl (14-2). He will take on Bulgaria's Sotir Kichukov (13-4) in the bantamweight category.

Striegl, who missed out on a bantamweight title in 2015 in the One Championship clash against Fernandes, will look to put one across Kichukov. The Bulgarian fighter though has it in him to stun the local favourite with his strong grappling skills.
