Manchester United have their sights set on winning every match they are in this season, according to Ashley Young.

Jose Mourinho's side continued their impressive start to the season as they strolled to a 4-1 victory at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night with goals from Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan - putting them on top of Group A.

Ashley Young was given the captain's armband for Manchester United's hugely impressive Champions League win away in Russia. Young led United's Russian rampage and has re-emerged as an important player in recent weeks.

In 2016, Mourinho had to prioritise the Europa League, leaving him to rest players for the Premier League which saw them finishing in sixth place.

However, Young insists this will not be the case this season, saying the squad are confident they can succeed on all fronts, according to the Telegraph.

"We're the most successful club in England and hopefully we can add to the trophies we won last season and hopefully win some more. Everyone wants to win every competition we are in," added Young, as per reports from Sky Sports, aware of the fact United won two major trophies last season and have a far better squad this term.

"There's not a competition that we are going to prioritise. We want to go at it on all fronts, whether that be in Europe or domestically.

Young said they were delighted to win the Europa League and the League Cup last season but would love to add the Premier League, the League Cup again, the FA Cup, or Champions League.

"For example, last season we went to Southampton and drew the game there but this season we managed to get the three points. We had to defend and dig deep. This season we've started off strong, we've been winning games, we've been scoring a lot of goals.

"We want to keep this momentum going. When you are playing with confidence throughout the team it's fantastic. That is exactly what we are looking to do and I think we've got the squad to do it."
