WWE superstar Bill Goldberg on Tuesday revealed he would respond to Brock Lesnar's challenge for a match at Wrestlemania 33 during the upcoming Monday Night Raw. The American veteran confirmed his stand with a Twitter post on Tuesday.
Earlier, in the last edition of RAW on 30 December that was held right after the Royal Rumble 2017, Lesnar and his lawyer Paul Heyman showed up on the ring and invited Golberg for a match at the year's biggest Pay-Per-View event - Wrestlemania 33, scheduled to be held on 3 April.
Heyman conceded that Lesnar's legendary WWE status is on the line after his recent inability to put one across Goldberg, who made a return to the sport after a long lay-off at the Survivor Series in November last year.
The 39-year-old American wrestler made light work of Lesnar at the PPV event as he just needed two spears and his trademark finishing move, jackhammer, to win the match against Lesnar in little over a minute and announce his arrival in style.
Goldberg continued his dominance over Lesnar at the Royal Rumble 30-man over-the-top-rope event on Sunday by eliminating the latter, who entered as the 26th participant. The former, who entered at 28, hit Lesnar with a spear before pushing him out of the ring.
Heyman added that Lesnar had beaten the legends of the game, including The Undertaker, Kurt Angle and Triple H in the past but the losses to Goldberg will be a blot in his career and that they would want to fix it at the possible rematch at Wrestlemania 33.
Notably, Goldberg is also set to feature in the main event of WWE Fastlane, scheduled for 5 March, and he is likely to accept the Lesnar challenge, making the possible fight one of the most anticipated ones of the PPV event.
