Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has left Boca Juniors and signed for Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua on 29 December, Thursday.

The 32-year-old returned to the Argentina outfit after his spell in Juventus. He rejoined his boyhood club after enjoying a majority of time with the European clubs, which also includes West Ham United and Juventus.

Tevez follows Fredy Guarín and former Chelsea striker Demba Ba to Shanghai Shenhua in recent times.

A statement on the Chinese club's official website read, "Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC reached a transfer agreement with Argentina Club Atlético Boca Juniors.Carlos Alberto Tévez is officially joined Shanghai Shenhua."

Tevez will play under former Uruguayan international Gustavo Poyet at Shanghai Shenhua. The latter replaced Gregorio Manzano as the manager of the Chinese Super League on 29 November.

The Argentine international follows Brazilian star Oscar to China. The 25-year-old left Chelsea and has agreed to join Shanghai SIPG. He was made aware that his services are no longer required for Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, who reverted to 3-4-3 system early in the 2016/17 season.

According to The Telegraph, Tevez's move to the Far East will see him become one of the highest paid footballers on the planet. It is believed that he is set to earn around £615,000-a-week with Shanghai Shenhua. Oscar will earn around £400,000-a-week at Shanghai SIPG.
