A 61-year-old woman was found dead at the foot of a Housing and Development Board (HDB) block in Yishun on Tuesday, March 31.

The authorities said that they were informed about the case at about 9.05 am at Block 136 Yishun Ring Road. When the media arrived at the scene around noon, multiple police fast response vehicles were stationed nearby, and a cordon had been set up at the ground floor close to a lift lobby upgraded under the estate's Lift Upgrading Programme.

The woman's body had already been removed by the time media arrived, but officers were still seen conducting checks in the area as part of ongoing investigations.

In response to queries, both the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that the woman had been found lying motionless at the foot of the block. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

Preliminary findings indicate that the woman had fallen from height. The police added that there is currently no evidence to suggest foul play, though investigations are still underway.
