Uhm Jung Hwa makes a comeback after eight years with new album slated for 2017 release

Uhm Jung-hwa is making a U-turn in her musical career. The 47-year-old is reportedly working on her album which is scheduled for an early 2017 release.

Dishing out details of the most anticipated comeback, her newest agency, Mystic Entertainment, said: "Uhm Jung Hwa signed an album contract with Mystic and has been working on her music for the past year. The album is in the final stages of recording. Uhm Jung Hwa has been coming to the recording studio and the practice room regularly and putting all her passion into the new album."

According to various reports, singer Lee Hyori, who is on a break after her marriage, will be the feature artist of Hwa's album.

The South Korean singer-actress is making a comeback into the music industry after eight years. Her last album was titled D.I.S.C.O and was tagged as was one of the best-selling albums by a female artist in 2008.

The Poison singer has also been quite active in the film and drama industry, and has garnered many accolades for her impeccable acting skills. The singer-turned-actress was awarded with two prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Actress, in 2002 for Marriage Is a Crazy Thing and again in 2012 for Dancing Queen.

Many Korean idols take Jung Hwa as their role model for her most influential women status and the evergreen actress tag in the Korean entertainment industry.
