Kim Yoo Jung opens up about portraying male character in Moonlight Drawn by Clouds

Moonlight Drawn by Clouds airs its first episode on August 22 at 10 p.m. KST on KBS TV.

Actress Kim Yoo Jung opened about slipping into a man's attire in the upcoming historical drama, Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. The young actress, who will be seen portraying a male character in some places, revealed that the transition was smooth and did not bother her much.

During her interview with ELLE magazine, the 16 year old relayed: "I'm not really girly by nature, so pretending to act like a man was comfortable. I have an easygoing personality. Ever since I was little it was hard for me to act coy or try to look good for someone." Yoo Jung will be seen depicting the character named, Hong Ra On, who is a woman but dresses like a man to enter into the royal palace. Hallyu star, Park Bo Gum will play Jung's love interest in the drama.

Meanwhile, Yoo Jung also shared her happiness on choosing the historical drama. She told Allkpop: "I read [the script] to 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds' with a happy heart. If I do that, then not only will I be happy, but the viewers will also get a positive vibe from it. I think [the drama] will be a project I will be thankful about."
