Park Bo Young reveals why she does not allow her family on the sets

Says showbiz is "tiring" but "fun" nonetheless.

Park Bo-young stole the hearts of countless fans with her performance in 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' as a extraordinarily powerful, yet sensitive young woman, who is barely afraid of any situation. In real life however, the actress is at least wary of this one thing: allowing her family on her sets.

As noted by website Soompi, on June 11, Park Bo-young held a V Live broadcast to talk about her life as an actor. She revealed that she doesn't like to have her family around while she is filming a project. "I don't let them come because I get shy. I can't act in front of them," she said.

Park Bo-young has no problem with her sister though. "One time when I was filming 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon,' I had to ask my little sister to bring me something. I was filming a scene where I had to carry Park Hyung Sik and Ji Soo on my back, and my sister just had her eyes on them the whole time. She had no interest in me whatsoever. I decided I would be able to invite her next time," she revealed.

Park Hyung-sik and Ji-soo are very popular with women, so the reaction of Bo-young's sister is understandable. In the early episodes of the drama, a bromance angle was being pushed. But as the drama progressed, it became clear that Park Hyung-sik and Bo-young's chemistry was very strong and lovable. Eventually, Ji Soo was sidetracked and the drama focussed on the other two as a romantic pair.

Their chemistry became so genuine on-screen and off- that many, including the production staff of the drama thought Hyung-sik and Bo-young were actually dating. The actors laughed off the reports and maintain they are good friends. However, despite all the difficulties of showbiz, the actor says she likes her career saying, "Even though it's tiring, I keep going because it's fun. I'm able to live out lives I had never lived before."

Park Bo-young also talked about how there is too much pressure on women in Korea, to look good. "Honestly, Korean beauty standards are harsh. People are even putting pressure on non-celebrities to be super skinny, and the standards of thinness are just getting worse. My little sister is fine just the way she is but she calls herself chubby, which makes me really sad. As long as you're healthy, I don't think weight matters," she observed.
