'Goblin' and 'Ruler: Master of the Mask' actress Kim So-hyun has said that there is no truth to rumours that she is setting up a one-person agency after leaving SidusHQ, which she has been with since 2010. The actress wrote a small message on her fan cafe.
As noted by Soompi, Kim So-hyun wrote, "Has everyone woken up? I should have informed you first.. but reports have come out this morning! However, there was talk about a one-person agency being formed.. I have never thought about a one-person agency and it's not true at all. I'm informing you because I thought you might be confused. I will let you know when my new agency has been confirmed. Please have a happy day! Hwaiting!"
Soompi also noted that a news outlet on July 4 reported that Kim So-hyun will not renew her contract with SidusHQ and instead, set-up a new one-person agency with her manager. SidusHQ at that time had said, "This is not true. We are currently discussing her contract renewal," adding, "Nothing has changed since our previous statement in which we shared that we will discuss the renewal of her contract after her drama ends."
However, Kim So-hyun decided to part ways with SidusHQ. On August 31 the agency confirmed this and said, "We have decided to respect the wishes of Kim So Hyun who we have been for a long time, and we will support the future of Kim So Hyun as she grows as a wonderful actress."
The 18-year-old actress also successfully completed her high school qualification examination. As noted by Soompi, she wrote on her official fan cafe, "I passed my high school qualification exam! This isn't a big deal, but I'm letting my fans know because they were concerned about my busy schedules before the exam. I was really worried [about this whole process], but so many people gave me courage. Thank you."
A source from her former agency, SidusHQ had revealed on August 29 that the actress is looking forward to attending college in 2018. Kim So-hyun will also make play a cameo role in upcoming SBS television series 'While You Were Sleeping,' which stars Lee Jong-suk and Suzy Bae in lead roles. The drama begins airing on September 27, this year.
Another actress who actually did open a one-person agency is Park Han-byul, after her contract with Daydream Entertainment expired. Park Han Byul's representatives said on August 28 that the actress plans to work alone for now.
