American talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are allegedly faking their relationship. InTouch Weekly has come up with claims that all is not well between the couple, who celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on 16 August.

An alleged source said: "Despite Ellen painting herself as being in the happiest place of her life, it's simply not true. Right now she and Portia are hanging by a thread and are headed for a split."

"Unless Ellen can change her negative mindset and sullen, paranoid ways, the once-happy Hollywood golden couple is headed towards a split within the next few months," the insider added.

The Oscar host married the Australian-American actress in 2008 at their home in Beverly Hills after the state of California lifted its ban on same-sex marriages. Over the years, the couple have repeatedly denied the claims that their marriage was on the rocks.

Previously, the 58-year-old told People magazine that she is grateful for her relationship. She said: "I'm not going anywhere. She's not going anywhere. I can't imagine not being married. I have my best friend, the person I want to spend time with more than anybody else in the world. Not everybody finds that. I'm grateful for everything. I'm grateful for my health, and I'm so grateful for the love in my life."

She added that she doesn't take her relationship with the 43-year-old Scandal star for granted. DeGeneres said: "Portia and I constantly say to each other, 'We are so lucky.' Sometimes it's lying in bed at night before I go to sleep, and I just say thank you to whatever, whoever is out there."

"I've gotten to a place where I really am just settled. Really. I know that I'm not going anywhere. She's not going anywhere. I'm not saying the relationship took a while; I'm saying in my life, it took a while to find this," she added.
