South Korean hip hop and R&B singer Zion.T has responded to reports that he took a dig at K-pop idols in his latest track in his new album O O.

The lyrics for Complex, featuring BIGBANG's G-Dragon read: "I wish I were an idol / Someone handsome who can dance / 'Cause you just have to write songs about love / 'Cause if you can't sing you can take it off."

During a group media interview at the office of The Black Label, Zion.T discussed the words in his song. He was quoted as saying to Soompi: "The lyrics aren't belittling idols. I hope that there's no misunderstanding. I saw comments, and I think in most cases it was idol fans getting mad. It's a fact that idols endure years of training to make it through all the industry competition and debut. I respect that. I'm not an idol; our paths are different. There's no reason for me to put idols down."

Adding on, the singer whose real name Kim Hae-sol, talked about working with G-Dragon. He said: "When I first heard him, I thought 'You're really going to be okay?' 'Can I really use this?' 'Can I be this blunt?' I honestly had thoughts like that. I wanted the song to have a cool feel, and G-Dragon was able to give me that."
