The upcoming tvN drama Bride of the Water God starring Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung released a new trailer featuring the lead actor as the water god for the first time.

In the drama, Nam Joo Hyuk is a temperamental deity who takes the most delightful woman as his bride in exchange of rain. Shin Se Kyung is to play the female lead and Gong Myung will reportedly play Biryeom.

In the video, Nam Joo Hyuk looked absolutely stunning in golden armor and a blue cape.

The story of the tvN's new drama is all set in a fantasy world. According to the reports, the story is of a village where the inhabitants sacrifice young women to water God because the village has been plagued by many years of drought. One of the young women sacrificed becomes his bride, and complications start.

The drama is reportedly a spin-off of the original manwha having the same name but it was initially reported that they'll keep the characters original and rework on the setting mainly to a modern one but the new trailer just added mystery and now that viewers are wondering how the new drama will be like.

According to Koreaboo, the filming for the drama begun recently and fans are excited to see how it will turn out eventually.

In other news, actor Gong Myung previously revealed about his role in the drama where he will play Biryeom, who lives among humans. According to Soompi, he stated, "In the past, I played mostly 'daily life' characters, so it was easy to find references for the roles. I could actually observe people living that life."

He further added, "But this time, you have to read the scenario and become part of an imaginary world. It is difficult, but it's also fun. It feels like I'm becoming a part of that world."

The drama will officially start airing on July 3rd at 10:50PM KST.
