In Channel A's celebrity investigation show, Poongmon Show Song Hye Kyo and her mother appeared and revealed that they have been blackmailed and threatened by someone she had worked with.

The actress' mother had received a letter in January 2005 and she was blackmailed for ₩250 million KRW (approximately $223,507 USD).

According to Koreaboo, in the letter, the blackmailer mentioned, "If you don't send me 250 million KRW, then I'll pour acid on you and Song Hye Kyo's body. If you don't want to see your daughter's body rotting and melting for the rest of your life, then you should really think about it."

The blackmailer further wrote, "I've already prepared large amounts of hydrochloric acid and hallucinogens."

The actress' mother immediately informed to the police and moved Song Hye Kyo from her house to a different location.

After the thorough investigation, it was discovered that the blackmailer was her previous manager with whom she lived with for three years.

Koreaboo mentioned that the police reports claim that the actress mother wailed uncontrollably when she got to know who the blackmailer was. In fact, she refused to believe it claiming, "That's just not possible. I don't believe it."

It came as a shock to the panel members as well and they couldn't hide their shock because the managers of the actors and actresses are usually considered as family spending most of their time with them.

However, the actress' mother didn't press charges. Sources claim that the previous manager of Song Hye Kyo was let go from the agency because of not reporting about the commission that he earned from her photo shoots.
