According to Koreaboo, the fans claimed that Bae Seulgi and Chayeon ate snacks, drank beer and stood up and danced rowdily. Soon, they were seen heading towards the stage area before the concert ended so as to announce to EXO that they are leaving. Therefore, in the middle of their concert EXO had to greet them.

Soon after the incident, Bae Seulgi and Chaeyeon's Instagram accounts were flooded with comments criticizing their rude behaviour at the concert.

Following the backlash, they updated their Instagram accounts with apologies. However, that didn't make things better, rather they were further criticized for the short apology and for sounding insincere.

Bae Seulgi, in the note stated, "I am deeply reflecting on my rude behaviour at the concert. I am sincerely sorry for hurting many EXO fans' feelings."

The K-pop singer further went on to explain, "I'm sorry for hurting people's feelings with my short apology.. It was because I didn't know what else to say but to apologize.. I was truly sincere, and everyone who went with us to the concert is also deeply reflecting on their behaviour. We're apologetic to EXO fans, but we're also very apologetic to our EXO friends. All we feel is apologetic.. I have nothing more to say, we won't do it again in the future."

She even writes that bringing in food and drinks, being in their phones during the concert, leaving early and more was wrong and she is sorry for all the disruptive behaviour. Further she says that she understands the anger, the criticizing comments but expects people to accept their sincere apologies and forgive them.

She concludes by writing, "If I ever go to a concert again, I will use this incident as an example and watch the concert maturely and be respectful..! I'm sorry."

Whereas Chaeyeon keeps it short and says, "My concert behavior was immature. I didn't think it through, I apologize. I acknowledge my behavior was wrong. I will think of this as constructive criticism and I'll be more careful in the future."
