Zac Efron is reportedly having second thoughts on getting romantically involved with American singer/songwriter Taylor Swift. The former Disney star was linked to the Bad Blood hitmaker after her split with Tom Hiddleston.

At the moment, Efron is busy filming for Baywatch, which is set to release in 2017. A source told Hollywood Life: "Zac's really excited on what Baywatch is expected to do to his career, and a high profile romance with Taylor might derail that. He is very aware of what it takes to make a public relationship, especially with someone like Taylor, work out."

"Zac felt like he always had to keep his guard up with Vanessa. He's scared of getting involved with Taylor because people then would only care about his love life, and not his acting career," the insider added.

Swift has a history of dating high-profile celebrities including Scottish singer/DJ Calvin Harris, One Direction star Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer and Conor Kennedy. In December 2015, during an interview with NME magazine, the Red hitmaker said she feels the world is too interested in her personal life.

She told the publication: "I'm in the news every single day for multiple different reasons. And it can feel, at times, if you let your anxiety get the better of you, like everybody's waiting for you to really mess up – and then you'll be done."

"A lot of the time I need to call my mom and talk for a really long time, just to remind myself of all the things that are great and all the things that matter. If you do something that defines your character to be not what the public thought you were, that's the biggest risk," Swift added.
