Will Scarlet Heart: Goryeo be as successful as Doctors?

The drama will be a fully pre-produced series similar to tvN's Cheese in the Trap and KBS's Descendants of the Sun.

The princes of the upcoming drama, Scarlet Heart: Goryeo, held a live video session from the set of SBS's Running Man. Actor Lee Joon Gi, Kang Ha Neul, and Hong Jong Hyun interacted with fans and expressed their thoughts on the forthcoming Chinese web novel inspired drama.

On August 16, Joon Gi shared that he wishes to see Scarlet Heart: Goryeo as successful as Doctors. "It would be great if 'Scarlet Heart: Goryeo' could get as much popularity as 'Doctors.' We worked hard for six months. I hope viewers will be able to recognize our hard work and passion," he asserted. Medical life inspired drama, Doctors, starring Kim Rae Won and Park Shin Hye has become quite a rage among viewers, and garners more than 20% viewership in and around Seoul.

Meanwhile, the release of Scarlet Heart: Goryeo has been pushed back, an insider told Soompi. While the exact date of the premiere has not been revealed, it is said that the show might go air in the first week of September. The Korea's Goreyo Dynasty inspired drama will take over Monday-Tuesday timeslot after Doctors complete its 20 episodes.

As per the reports, the drama will be a fully pre-produced series similar to tvN's Cheese in the Trap and KBS's Descendants of the Sun. The show's shoot took place at snow-covered fields of the Gangwon province. Previously named as Moon lover, Scarlet Heart: Goryeo also boasts of its starry cast and guest appearances. The drama is set to feature stars like Lee Jun Ki, IU, Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, Nam Joo Hyuk, Baekhyun EXO, Ji Soo, and much more.
