South Indian Tamil hero Vijay, who is also known as "Ilayathalphathy "by his loyal fans, revealed that his next flick "Mersal" would be a huge release worldwide, expected to be one of his best movies so far.

The Tamil movie, to be released on October 13, is hoped to break the records of "Bhabubhali 2", which had set new records for any Indian film. "Mersal" has a star cast of female leads including Kajal Agrawal, Samantha Prabhu and Nithya Menon and the film is the second in row bringing together Atlee and Vijay after "Theri".

The plot of the movie "Mersal " features Vijay who dons three roles, one of a village head, the other of a doctor and lastly, a magician.

Theatrical exhibitors across the world are striving hard to make the movie a big hit with a count of 3,300 screenings on the opening day. This is the first time that Vijay's movie will have such a huge number of screens on the day of the premiere.

Vijay has a huge following in his home state Tamil Nadu in India while Tamil Movies are a major attraction in the entire southern part of the country, especially Karnataka, Kerala and parts of Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, Tamil movies are quite popular overseas in Malaysia and Singapore where considerable Tamil-speaking population watch these movies. Even the US and UAE contribute heavily to the box office collections of Tamil movies.

Malaysia alone is set to put up 800 screenings for "Mersal", covering the country's 1,100 auditoriums. Another strong attraction for the film is its renowned music director A.R. Rahaman, who had won two Oscars to his credit.

The audio launch was live-streamed for Tamil-speaking Malaysian fans by "The Malaysian Vijay Fans " and "Rahamanic Malaysian Fans' Club" and it is the 100th film by TSR cinemas.

If the movie releases on October 18, "Mersal" will be Vijay's fifth film to reach $15 million, and is expected to be the first movie to cross more than $30 million. This will place him among the other Tamil stars like Rajinikanth, Vikram and Kamal Hassan.

To be precise," Mersal "will be Vijay 's biggest grosser in his career after "Thuppaki", which was released on 2012. It continued to collect $1.8 billion, followed by "Theri" which collected $20 million worldwide.

However, "Mersal" will also clash with Bollywood hero Aamir Khan's movie "Secret Superstar" which is set to release on October 19 in Singapore. The war for screens will be worth the watch!
