Sony debuts Android 7.0 Nougat OTA rollout with Xperia X Performance

Sony Mobile users are in for some great news as the company has just started the Android 7.0 Nougat rollout with its latest flagship phones. The Nougat update with build number 39.2.A.0.327 is currently being rolled out to Xperia X Performance (F8131) and X Performance Dual (F8132).

As the update is being rolled out in phases across select regions of the world, the FTF firmware links are not yet accessible. However, Sony Xperia X users can rest assured that the Android N Developer preview builds that the company released in August is finally bearing some fruits.

It must be noted that Sony had earlier promised Nougat upgrades for a bunch of nine devices including the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia XA Ultra, as well as the Z5 line of products, the Z4 tablet, and the Z3+.

Although the proposed devices for Nougat upgrade are less than a year and a half old from the date of their launch into the market, there is no guarantee that these products would get the Android 7.0 update; especially given the time-consuming process of rolling out Android upgrades on OEM devices.
