Song Joong-ki bags a new commercial in Thailand amid THAAD issue

Song Joong-ki will be paired with a Thai actress Mew Nittha with whom he made an appearance in Bangkok for a store launch

The THAAD issue closed the prospect for the Korean actors to star in new commercials for Chinese products and it includes the Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong-ki who used to endorse the Vivo phones in China. However, the actor recently got a new partner, and has become one of the endorsers of an online marketplace known as, 11th Street, in Thailand.

According to the reports, the Running Man actor will be paired with a Thai actress Mew Nittha, with whom the actor made an appearance in Bangkok for a store launch, in February. It was during the same time that Joong Ki's dear friend Park Bo Gum was also in Bangkok for his fan-meet and the My Fair Lady actor came as a special guest into the event.

According to Campaign Asia report, after the launch, 11th Street placed the outdoor ads on the busiest Bangkok Mass Transit System stations such as in Siam, Chit Lom, and Phrom Pong. They also have two TV and digital ads that went on air on Feb. 16.

The campaign was really successful as it is very evident from the 11th Street's Facebook page which exceeded 1 million, according to the agency behind the marketing campaign, Cheil Thailand.

In other news, the actor may make an appearance on the new JTBC action suspense drama Man to Man. According to the reports, the actor recently completed filming the scenes for his cameo role in Park Hae Jin's new drama.

According to Korea Portal, the actor was recently spotted on the sets of the upcoming drama and was photographed there. The said filming site also unveiled the look of the actor who was spotted in a business suit. However, it is not yet known as to whether Song Joong Ki's cameo role in Man to Man is that of a businessman or that of a banker.
