CCTV footage shows two brave women fighting of a robber in Birmingham. Tyrone Dorsett threatened the women with a knife to steal the shop till. One of the woman attempted to block the exit while the other ran after him wielding a baseball bat. Dorsett was later jailed for 12 years for 15 robberies and one count of assault. DNA from a can led to his arrest, after he was spotted drinking from it on CCTV.
These polar bears were in for a special surprise. To keep paws cool and bears happy Ranua Zoo in Finland got a special delivery of snow. Several trucks brought the snow into the area, turning summer into winter. The bears were clearly thrilled by the chilly surprise.
A firefighter bravely rescued a dog in danger of drowning. Miami Beach Fire Department received a call about a dog struggling in the water. Firefighter Emilio Sanchez jumped in without hesitation and pulled the dog to safety. The dog received the nickname Champ and is doing well. He was reunited with his owner later in the day.
Venezuelas Supreme Court ordered the arrest of Alfredo Ramos, mayor of Iribarren, part of the city of Barquisimeto. Ramos is accused of facilitating protests against the countrys President Nicolas Maduro. He is the second mayor arrested for being in opposition to Maduro.

Russia is demanding the US to reduce its diplomatic staff inside Russia, and says it would seize 2 U.S. diplomatic properties. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the punishment, in response to the financial sanction bills against Russia awaiting President Trumps signature. North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has said that his latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test has only proved his regimes ability to strike all of the US and that it is a stern warning to American President Donald Trump and China. The isolated country launched its second ICBM late on Friday (28 July) and it was personally supervised by Kim.
