12 Brits arrested in Spain for smuggling cocaine in speedboats to sell to Magaluf clubbers

14 people including 12 British nationals were arrested in Magaluf for drug dealing. Police seized 3kg of cocaine as well as methamphetamine and cannabis, over 100,000 euro in cash and four vehicles. The dealers reportedly smuggled the drugs to the holiday resort in speedboats. The suspects were working for local bars and clubs and are predominantly from Liverpool and Manchester.

Almost 70,000 people have been evacuated ahead of a bomb defusal in Frankfurt. It is the largest post-war evacuation in Germany. Two major hospitals and several retirement homes had to be evacuated completely. The unexploded British World War Two bomb was discovered during building works. Bomb disposal experts will attempt to defuse the 1.8 tonne bomb remotely from a safe distance. It is estimated that 150,000 bombs still lie unexploded in the ground in Germany.

The hermit kingdom confirmed it successfully tested a hydrogen bomb. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe contemned North Korea for continuing its nuclear program. The country has conducted five nuclear detonations in the past, two of them in 2016. The current blast was up to 6 times stronger than the last nuclear test.

A nurse at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah has accused a police detective of assaulting and illegally arresting her after she followed a hospital policy that does not allow authorities to draw blood from unconscious patients. The incident, which happened on 26 July, got recorded through the bodycam of detective Jeff Payne and the CCTV installed in the hospital. Salt Lake police Sergeant Brandon Shearer has responded on the incident and said an internal investigation is now underway.
