A video captured in the city of Iwaki in the Fukushima Prefecture shortly after the 6.9 magnitude Earthquakes that struck Japan on 22 November shows tsunami waves flow upstream on Hiruta River, taking many by surprise.

Japan Meteorological Agency warned Fukushima about Tsunami waves up to three meters in height and urged people to move to higher lands and secure property.

The United States Geological Survey reported that the epicentre of the earthquake was nearly 32 miles from the Japanese mainland at a depth of 18 kilometers.
