Selena Gomez finds herself in 'happy place', here's why

Selena Gomez credits her mother for being her constant inspiration and shares the reason for her happiness.

Selena Gomez says that she is really happy now. However, the big reason for her happiness is none other than the success of her American Television series '13 Reasons Why' where she is working as the co-producer.

The 'Good For You' hitmaker expressed her happiness by saying, '''13 Reasons Why' was a really big moment for me, just because we had the book for seven years and we worked so hard on it. But, everything. You know, my personal life, and my family and my friends, I'm just, I'm in a really happy place. It's been good ..."

''I think it's empowering when you're able to do things on your own. I started [my career] when I was so young, so in a way, a lot of things were - they helped guide me, and they helped build stuff with me. So, the older I've gotten, I've realised I don't want to be a part of something unless I'm truly passionate, I truly created it, unless I feel like it means something. So, maybe it's just getting older?" the singer and actress added. As reported by MSN Entertainment, Selena credits her mother Mandy Teefey for being her continuous inspiration and for "constantly challenging" her to explore new areas of life.

Explaining the significance of her mother in her life and crediting her for being a source of constant inspiration she said, ''I think it's empowering when you're able to do things on your own. I started [my career] when I was so young, so in a way, a lot of things were - they helped guide me, and they helped build stuff with me. So, the older I've gotten, I've realised I don't want to be a part of something unless I'm truly passionate, I truly created it, unless I feel like it means something. So, maybe it's just getting older?''.

Selena who was away from the spotlight from quite some time was reportedly suffering from ''anxiety, panic attacks and depression'' but now, fortunately, she was found to be in a 'great, happy place', giving a green signal for all going well in her life.
