Selena Gomez reportedly wants to avoid meeting former boyfriend Justin Bieber at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 21. The former Disney star's boyfriend, The Weeknd and the Baby hitmaker are against each other for the Top Male Artist and Top Artist awards.
A source told Hollywood Life: "Selena's happier than ever, but she doesn't want to rub it in Justin's face. She's afraid of being herself around Abel if Justin is nearby because she doesn't want to hurt her ex."
Gomez and Bieber who started dating in 2010, have had an on-and-off relationship until 2014. She had previously revealed that she is unhappy with the constant scrutiny about her relationship with Bieber.
She told W magazine: "I'm so exhausted. I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can't do it anymore."
"To me it was: I'm 18, I have a boyfriend, we look cute together, we like that. Then I got my heart broken and I cared. Because people had no idea what was going on, but everywhere it was a million different things. I was kind of in a corner, banging my head against the wall. I didn't know where to go," Gomez added.
