Red Velvet's Joy collapses while performing at University concert

There might have been some technical glitch with the singer's earpiece.

Red Velvets' Joy felt a sudden blackout while giving a stage performance with her girl gang. The 19-year-old went blank for a while but resumed her stage act moments later.

The girl group was performing at a college festival in Gyeonggi Province on May 26, when the incident occurred. A few minutes after the act took off, the songstress felt unconscious and collapsed on the stage.

In a fan-captured video of the show, Joy is seen stumbling down while grabbing her hair and ear. Although the reason of sudden passout is not clear, it is speculated that there was some technical glitch with the singer's earpiece which stimulated an instant shock and made her to keel over.

However, after regaining her pace, the We Got Married contestant finished the song flawlessly despite her fellow members telling her to rest backstage.

Meanwhile, in a related news, the five-member band is working on their return this year. Red Velvet's official agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed that the girl band is preparing to release a new album. Although the exact date has not been finalised yet, it is stated that the curtainraiser will most likely be in summer.
