Nexus devices get Android 6.0.1 June security update via factory images and OTA zip files

Google rolls out critical security fixes for several Nexus devices in its June update.

Google has just released the June 2016 security updates via factory images and OTA zip files for a bunch of Nexus devices running on Android 6.0.1. The Nexus devices which are getting this new update along with the relevant build numbers are listed below:

  • Pixel C - MXC89H
  • Nexus 6P - MTC19V
  • Nexus 5X - MTC19V
  • Nexus 6 - MOB30M
  • Nexus Player - MOB30M
  • Nexus 9 LTE - MOB30M
  • Nexus 9 Wi-Fi - MOB30M
  • Nexus 5 - MOB30M
  • Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi - MOB30M
  • Nexus 7 2013 3G - MOB30M

According to Google's June security report, the latest update brings six critical security fixes while four of them are specific to Qualcomm driver privilege elevation vulnerabilities.

Quite surprisingly, the Nexus 10 has been left out of contention for the monthly security updates as Google has ceased all non-critical updates for the tablet.

Interested users can download the latest security update for their Nexus device via the model-specific factory images and OTA zip files.
