Lee Bong Gyu apologizes for using Song Joong Ki's name in Park Yoochun sexual assault case

Blossom Entertainment had stated that the allegations were baseless.

Lee Bong Gyu has expressed his apology over comments on Song Joong Ki. Bong Gyu, who is a panelist of TV Chosun's talk show Powerful Opponents, claimed that two celebrities of Blossom Entertainment, were at the same bar where Park Yoochun held a birthday party.

Bong Gyu's statement triggered reports on the internet that the Descendants of the Sun star and Park Bo Gum were present with Yoochun when he allegedly raped a woman in a hotel's restroom. Following the backlash, Bong Gyu revealed he is sorry for his comments and said: "Police investigations revealed that no celebrities were in attendance [with Park Yoochun] that night. It was also not found in the victims' statements. I apologize to viewers for the misunderstanding."

Meanwhile, Blossom Entertainment, who represent Joong Ki And Bo Gum, said the allegations were baseless. The statement read: "There is no truth to the recent rumor and we will take legal action."

"We cannot remain as a spectator when TV programs talk about the rumor as though it were true and disclose real names. We will definitely request for an investigation regarding the first source of the rumor as well as pursue legal action against every instance of spreading the false rumor. We hope that no further damage will occur," the note stated.
