Koreans pick Yoo Jae Suk as best comedian of 2017

Gallup Korea has released its year-ender on Koreans' most favourite comedian based on a poll conducted on November 8 to 28 among 1,700 people aged 13 and above.

"Running Man" and "Infinite Challenge" star Yoo Jae Suk has been chosen as the top comedian of 2017 in a survey among Koreans.

Gallup Korea has released its year-ender on Koreans' most favourite comedian based on a poll conducted on November 8 to 28 among 1,700 people aged 13 and above.

Yoo Jae Suk, who also hosts the TV show "Happy Together," placed first with 38.3 percent, his sixth straight year to top the year-end poll. He ranked No. 1 from 2007 to 2009, second in 2010 and 2011, and starting from 2012, he ranked first.

Placing second is Kang Ho Dong with 23.3 percent. He placed first in 2010 with "2 Days & 1 Night" and "Golden Fishery." He retired in 2011 and returned in 2012. He is with the shows "New Journey to the West," "Ask Us Anything" and "Let's Eat Dinner Together."

Third is Park Na-rae of "I Live Alone" with 15.9 percent, the only comedienne in the top 10. She made her big debut as a comedienne in 2006 and became famous through the program "Comedy Big League" in 2012.

Fourth place is Shin Dong Yup with 13.5 percent. He is currently on TV shows "Mom's Diary-My Ugly Duckling" and "SNL Korea."

Lee Kyung Kyu placed fifth with 9.5 percent. He debuted in 1981 and has been a pioneer for nearly 40 years.

In sixth place with 8.1 percent is Lee Soo Geun, who is on TV shows "Night Goblin," "Kang's Kitchen," "Master Key" and "My Daughter's Men 2."

Seventh is Kim Jun Ho with 7.8 percent followed by Hang Se Hyung with 7.4 percent, Kim Jun Hyun with 6.9 percent and Kim Byung Man with 3.9 percent.

Others on the list are Lee Guk-joo, Kim Sook, Park Myeong-su, Jang Do-yeon, Park Soo-hong and Kim Gura.
