Korean indie pop duo Bolbbalgan4, composed of former high school classmates Ahn Ji-young and Woo Ji-yoon, has achieved another success with their new album.

The duo, which competed in the TV singing competition "Superstar K6" in 2014, released the album "Red Diary Page 1" on September 28 that topped music charts.

A day after the album's release, Bolbbalgan4 achieved a "certified all-kill" status with the song "Some" when it reached No. 1 on real-time and daily charts on Genie, Melon, Mnet, Naver and Soribada.

They later got the "perfect all-kill" status when the song topped the weekly, daily and real-time charts on the music downloading sites.

About "Some," Woo Ji-yoon said, "I have no dating experience. We wrote this song because we both want to be in a 'some' relationship."

The song "To My Puberty" is about Bolbbalgan4's career.

"I recalled crying alone since my parents were strongly against my musical aspirations during high school. I even cried a lot when recording," said Ahn Ji-young.

Bolbbalgan4 rose to prominence in 2016 when they released the album "Red Planet." The album's "Galaxy" track bagged the Song of the Year award at the 14th Korean Music Awards last February.

They admitted that the success of the album put pressure on them to come up with a better material.

"We were burdened a lot as 'Galaxy' was beloved by so many. We thought of maybe making the album by referencing that song, but ended up just putting in what we wanted to express," according to Ahn Ji-young.

During the album showcase event in Seoul, Woo Ji-yoon hoped that "it'd be great if we're loved dearly again this time, but we don't assume that to be a given. Even if expectations aren't met, we'll work harder to make up for it."

The two singers could not believe that they have achieved success in a field dominated by K-pop artists.

"Before, we were jobless. After [our increase in popularity], it was like 'Oh my, what is this money?' It's the feeling of having more savings. [Our income] is more than whatever you may be imagining," said Ahn Ji-young.
