Boys Over Flower fame Kim Bum is all set to make his comeback to the Korean industry after almost four years. The actor's agency, King Kong Entertainment, has confirmed the news to the media. He would be appearing in the third instalment of comical-mystery thriller Detective K.

Kim was last seen in the 2013 Korean film The Gifted Hand. He is best known for his role as So Yi-jung in Boys Over Flowers. He is also noted for his supporting roles in Padam Padam: The Sound of His and Her Heartbeats and That Winter, The Wind Blows.

Detective K revolves around the trails of detective Kim Min (played by Kim Mung Min). He goes on a mission to unveil the mystery behind a serial murder that took place during the period of King Jeongjo in the Joseon era. Oh Dal Su also plays a key role in the film. Actress Kim Ji Won will appear as the female lead, who joins hands with Kim Min (despite her memory loss) to find the criminal behind the gruesome murder.

The official filming is likely to begin in August 2017. Known as the Korean spin off of Sherlock Holmes, the last instalment of Detective K series was 'Secret of the Lost Island' in 2015. The film revolves around Kim Min's adventure in unwinding the disappearance of hundreds of women and its link with a mysterious silver counterfeiting ring.
