2NE1's CL left high school to pursue music

The 25-year-old will be heading to Mexico for her first ever performance in the city on 15 July.

The family of 2NE1's CL has always been supportive of her career. The 25-year-old singer revealed that her father has been her greatest inspiration, who helped her choose music as a profession.

In a previous interaction at SBS Strong Heart, the songstress revealed: "My father is a physics professor. He is currently writing a children's book and also makes robots which he displays."

She continued: "When I was younger every weekend we would turn on music. The family would gather together and draw while we listened to music. All those pictures were made into a book. My father was a big influence on my music."

Recently, the father of the lead vocalist of 2NE1 opened up about her celebrity daughter's career choices with Chosun Ilbo. He stated: "I didn't stop Chaelin when she went under YG Entertainment and declared she would drop out of high school. Being able to find something you love and are good at when you are only in your teens is very lucky. "

Being an educator himself, Lee Ki Jin never pointed her daughter for leaving high school graduation. In fact, he is proud of CL's accomplishment and achievements in the music world.

Defining CL's love for music, Ki Jin asserted: "CL fell in love with dancing when she started learning jazz dance for fun in 6th grade. Then starting in 8th grade, she went to a practice room in Hongdae everyday and recorded herself dancing to the choreography she made."

Meanwhile, CL will be heading to Mexico for her first ever performance in the city, Young Night with CL, on 15 July. The singer is set to take the center stage for the 10th-anniversary celebration of STARPRO.
